Draw a route from a GPX file

Attach a GPS track from Strava, Garmin, or Komoot and the map draws it exactly as you recorded it. Rides, runs, hikes, and road trips.

In chat, open the attach menu and choose Add Route (GPX). A chip shows the start, the end, and the distance, so you can see the file was read before you send the prompt.

  • The line follows your recorded track point for point, so trails, loops, and winding rides keep their real shape
  • Named waypoints on the track become stops on the map
  • A file with several tracks becomes a journey with several legs
  • The camera travels with the route and keeps loops in frame

Files can be up to 5MB, and one route can be attached to a message. If a file cannot be used, the chip tells you why. Times and device details inside the file are not shown on the map. Times are only used to work out your moving time.

No GPX file? Name the stops in the prompt and the route is drawn along real roads instead. More on Map Animation Maker.
