How to Create an Instagram Follow Animation with AI

5 min read

I used to spend most of an afternoon in Adobe After Effects on one Instagram follow button for a video intro. The profile card, the counting numbers, the cursor, and the switch to Following each needed their own keyframes. You can now generate that same follow animation with AI motion graphics tools.

How to Create an Instagram Follow Animation with Easymotion

With Easymotion, you can skip the timeline entirely. You do not have to keyframe the card, the cursor, or the click. Here is exactly how to generate your follow animation.

1Open the Studio

First, navigate to Easymotion in your web browser and click the "Start Creating" button. You will be prompted to log in or sign up for a free account. Once logged in, you will enter the main studio interface.

2Enter Your Prompt

You have two options to create your Instagram follow button animation. You can browse the template library to find a pre-made follow button style, or you can describe what you want in the prompt box. For example, type: "Create an Instagram follow animation on a light gray background. Show a profile card for Sophia Chen, @sophiachen.design, with the bio Product Designer & Motion Artist. Count up to 1,420 posts, 84.5K followers, and 612 following, then click the blue Follow button so it turns into Following."

Sophia Chen's profile card counts up to 84.5K followers, then the blue Follow button turns into Following.

Tip

To show your own profile photo, click the paperclip, choose Add Images, and attach the photo. Easymotion puts it in the avatar circle.

3Customize Using AI Chat

Once your base animation generates, you can adjust the details using the AI chat panel located on the left side of the screen. Just type commands directly into the chat. For example, type: "Make it a TikTok profile card for Lena Ortiz, @lena.eats, with a red Follow button. Show 248 following, 4.6M followers, and 89.1M likes, and the bio Street food & night markets, New city every Friday, with the link lena.eats/seoul." The system updates your video automatically.

4Export Your Animation

When you are happy with the result, click the Export button in the top right corner and select the MP4 format for a standard video file. To overlay this follow button onto another video, make the background transparent first: ask the chat for a transparent background, or press the checkerboard button on the background color in Quick Edit. When the preview shows a checkerboard, export in the MOV format and drop the file into Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

Copy-Paste Prompts for Your Animation

Paste one into the prompt box in Easymotion, then change the details to fit your video.

Prompt 1: Instagram Profile Card

Create an Instagram follow animation on a light gray background. Show a profile card for Sophia Chen, @sophiachen.design, with the bio Product Designer & Motion Artist. Count up to 1,420 posts, 84.5K followers, and 612 following, then click the blue Follow button so it turns into Following.

Prompt 2: Dark Profile Card

Create an Instagram follow animation on a black background with a dark profile card. Show Sophia Chen, @sophiachen.design, with the bio Product Designer & Motion Artist. Count up to 1,420 posts, 84.5K followers, and 612 following, then click the blue Follow button so it turns into Following.

Prompt 3: Vertical Profile Card

Create a vertical 9:16 Instagram follow animation on a light gray background. Show a profile card for Sophia Chen, @sophiachen.design, with the bio Product Designer & Motion Artist. Count up to 1,420 posts, 84.5K followers, and 612 following, then click the blue Follow button so it turns into Following.

Adobe After Effects vs AI Motion Graphics

A follow button used to mean building the card, the cursor, and the click by hand. Here is how that work compares to Easymotion in 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

Under 60 seconds. You type the name, the handle, and the numbers into the prompt box, and Easymotion builds the card, the cursor click, and the Following button.

No, you do not need Adobe After Effects or any design skills. You describe the profile card in a prompt, then change the name or the numbers in the AI chat on the left.

Yes. Name the app in the prompt or the chat. The second clip turns the Instagram card into a TikTok card with a red Follow button in one message.

Use a MOV file with a transparent background. Ask the chat for a transparent background, or set the background color to transparent in Quick Edit, until the preview shows a checkerboard. Then export MOV and place it over your footage in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Use MP4 for a normal video file.

No. It is an animated copy of the Instagram style for videos, such as a reminder to follow your own account. Do not use it to fake follower numbers or to suggest that Instagram supports your product.
